Motorhead guitarist issues Lemmy health update
Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell has issued an update on the band following the cancellation of a series of summer concerts while frontman Lemmy deals with some health issues.
“Hey everyone out there,” posted Campbell. “Better prepare yourselves big time, cos our mindblowing new record ‘Afterschock’ will be coming out! Lemmy is on the mend and we are gonna be touring our asses off!!! Business as usual real soon!”
Motorhead canceled the remaining shows on their summer European festival tour following doctor’s orders as Lemmy recently suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel) and needed to address the issue; the bassist had previously been fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.
Motorhead’s new album, "Aftershock", is tentatively due in September. The follow-up to 2010's "The Wörld Is Yours" was recorded at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California with longtime producer Cameron Webb.
